Freaky!
We were knocking down our old sandbox, and then Mom picked up the grill cover and saw this thing. We thought it was alive.
Then we saw the hole in it. We realized that it molted.
We think it's from a cicada. This is Coral Snake writing. North Star thinks it's really freaky. Mom is holding it in this picture. (Click on it to see it enlarged - if you dare!)

Forgot to mention - we put it on the kitchen counter without telling Daddy. He nearly jumped out of his skin! :-)
I've seen something similar before. We have dirt daubers down here that will latch on to the sides of houses or in garages and molt. They leave their old, empty skins as well, stuck to the wall. Very freaky.
I dared! It freaked me out, but how cool! What a cool Mom to hold it...
